What problem does it solve?

This release automation solves the manual, error-prone process of preparing, reviewing, and publishing software releases by coordinating a two-phase workflow that creates a release prep PR and triggers npm publish and GitHub releases after approval.

Core Features & Use Cases

Two-phase release workflow: Dispatch and Publish, where a PR with version bumps is created and a subsequent merge triggers the actual publish.
Release types: Supports production (latest) and prerelease (beta) tags to manage stability and testing.
Governance and monitoring: Provides a structured process with workflow files to generate changelogs, validate versions, and publish artifacts.

Quick Start

Dispatch a new release by triggering the GitHub Actions workflow with the appropriate version tag.
