System Documentation

What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the process of refactoring AsciiDoc assembly files to adhere to Red Hat's modular documentation standards, improving content reusability and maintainability.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Content Extraction: Extracts introductory preambles, inline procedures, concepts, admonitions, and additional resources from assembly files.
  • Module Creation: Generates new, self-contained AsciiDoc modules (CONCEPT, PROCEDURE, REFERENCE) for the extracted content.
  • Assembly Update: Replaces the extracted inline content with include:: directives pointing to the newly created modules.
  • Xref Path Adjustment: Automatically calculates and adjusts relative cross-reference paths for the new module directory depths.
  • Use Case: When a large assembly file contains a lengthy introduction and several inline procedures, this skill can move that content into separate about-*.adoc and *-*.adoc modules, making the assembly cleaner and the new modules reusable elsewhere.

Quick Start

Use the dita-rework-assembly skill to extract inline content from the file 'master.adoc' into new modules.
