What problem does it solve?
This Skill automates the process of refactoring AsciiDoc assembly files to adhere to Red Hat's modular documentation standards, improving content reusability and maintainability.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Content Extraction: Extracts introductory preambles, inline procedures, concepts, admonitions, and additional resources from assembly files.
- Module Creation: Generates new, self-contained AsciiDoc modules (CONCEPT, PROCEDURE, REFERENCE) for the extracted content.
- Assembly Update: Replaces the extracted inline content with
include::directives pointing to the newly created modules. - Xref Path Adjustment: Automatically calculates and adjusts relative cross-reference paths for the new module directory depths.
- Use Case: When a large assembly file contains a lengthy introduction and several inline procedures, this skill can move that content into separate
about-*.adocand*-*.adocmodules, making the assembly cleaner and the new modules reusable elsewhere.
Quick Start
Use the dita-rework-assembly skill to extract inline content from the file 'master.adoc' into new modules.
