SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps software teams clearly define and refine non-functional requirements, ensuring explicit quality attribute specifications for architecture and feature changes.

Core Features & Use Cases

NFR Documentation: Guides teams in capturing measurable quality attributes such as accessibility, reliability, or performance.
Workflow Automation: Facilitates the Ralph Loop process for systematic planning, execution, and validation of non-functional requirements.
Use Case: When an architecture change impacts system security, apply this Skill to specify and verify compliance with security standards and auditability requirements.

Quick Start

Read the context documents and run the Ralph Loop workflow to produce validated, explicit NFRs for your software change.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I define non-functional requirements for software architecture changes?▼

To define non-functional requirements, you need a structured process to capture measurable quality attributes like security and performance. This Skill guides teams in documenting, verifying, and validating these explicit quality goals across development cycles.

What is the best way to document software quality attributes for compliance?▼

Documenting software quality attributes for compliance requires referencing best practices and standards to ensure goals are quantifiable. This Skill refines non-functional requirements by facilitating a systematic workflow for validation and verification.

How do I validate non-functional requirements during the development cycle?▼

Validating non-functional requirements during the development cycle involves executing a structured workflow like the Ralph Loop. This process supports systematic planning, execution, and validation to ensure quality attributes remain achievable.

Can I use a structured process to manage trade-offs between performance and security?▼

Yes, managing trade-offs between performance and security requires explicitly defining and refining non-functional requirements. This Skill helps specify these quality attributes and verify compliance with security standards and auditability needs.

When do I need to specify non-functional requirements for a new software feature?▼

You need to specify non-functional requirements for a new software feature when architecture changes impact system quality attributes like accessibility or reliability. Applying this Skill ensures explicit specifications and verification of those goals.
