What problem does it solve?

dpm-finder identifies which Prometheus metrics and label combinations are driving high data points per minute (DPM) so you can locate noisy, high-cardinality series and optimize Grafana Cloud costs.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Metric-level DPM analysis: Calculates DPM per metric and provides per-label-set breakdowns to pinpoint the exact series causing load.
  • Cost prioritization and filtering: Supports estimated cost per 1000 series, excludes histogram/summary components and internal Grafana metrics, and filters by minimum DPM.
  • Use Case: Run a one-shot scan or an exporter against a Grafana Cloud Prometheus endpoint to produce JSON/CSV reports that rank metrics by DPM and surface high-cardinality cost drivers for remediation.
