FAQPage Schema

How do I optimize exit strategies for Freqtrade to lock in trend-following profits?▼

You can optimize exit strategies for Freqtrade by applying a three-phase exit mechanism that uses a ratcheting trailing stop to tighten and lock in profits without loosening. This structured approach separates your exit logic into an ROI ladder, a hard stop, and a trailing stop.

What is a three-phase exit mechanism in crypto trading and how does it work?▼

A three-phase exit mechanism in crypto trading structures your exit logic into an ROI ladder, a hard stop, and a ratcheting trailing stop. It works by sequentially applying these customizable parameters to manage trades from initial profit targets to final stoploss execution.

Can I customize the ROI ladder and stoploss parameters in Freqtrade strategies?▼

Yes, you can customize parameters for the ROI ladder, hard stop, and trailing stop in Freqtrade strategies. This allows you to define a reusable exit primitive that specifies exactly how and when your strategy exits trades based on your custom thresholds.

Does the three-phase exit engine work with any Freqtrade strategy?▼

The three-phase exit engine applies to Freqtrade strategies requiring optimized exit logic. It functions as a reusable exit primitive on Superior Trade, meaning any strategy needing customizable ROI ladder, hard stop, and trailing stop parameters can implement it.

What is the best way to prevent a trailing stop from loosening in Freqtrade?▼

The best way to prevent a trailing stop from loosening in Freqtrade is to use a ratcheting trail mechanism. This approach ensures the trailing stop only ever tightens as profits grow, permanently locking in gains without retracing backwards.
