Frequently Asked Questions about en50128-validation

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What is EN 50128 validation for railway software?▼

EN 50128 validation verifies fitness for purpose, regulatory alignment, and safety claims for railway software. It ensures compliance through independent validation planning, hazard-based safety testing, and generation of compliant validation artifacts.

How do I create an EN 50128 validation plan aligned with SVaP?▼

To create an EN 50128 validation plan, align with Tables A.7 and A.18, map hazard-based safety validation to the Software Validation Plan (SVaP), and define acceptance criteria. This ensures traceability and test coverage across Phase 7.

What validation artifacts are required for EN 50128 Phase 7 compliance?▼

Required EN 50128 validation artifacts include the Software Validation Plan (SVaP), Validation Report, and traceability matrices. These demonstrate independent verification, test coverage, and acceptance criteria fulfillment for railway software.

How does hazard-based safety validation work in railway software compliance?▼

Hazard-based safety validation identifies potential railway software hazards and verifies that system and performance testing mitigates them. This approach satisfies EN 50128 requirements for independence, traceability, and operational scenario testing.

Can I use this approach for V-model railway software testing?▼

Yes, this EN 50128 validation approach supports V-model railway software testing by executing validation against software components. It covers performance validation, operational scenario testing, and acceptance testing within Phase 7.

When do I need independent validation for railway software compliance?▼

Independent validation is needed to ensure EN 50128 compliance for railway software before deployment. It verifies fitness for purpose and safety claims through structured hazard-based testing, SVaP alignment, and traceable artifact generation.
