Frequently Asked Questions about excalidraw

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I create hand-drawn diagrams using JSON in the terminal?▼

You can create hand-drawn diagrams by writing JSON code that defines elements like rectangles, ellipses, and arrows, which the terminal then converts into an Excalidraw sketch. This allows rapid prototyping of flowcharts and architectural diagrams directly.

What is the Excalidraw JSON element format needed for terminal diagram generation?▼

The Excalidraw JSON element format is the specific structural syntax required to define diagram components like shapes and arrows. You need knowledge of this JSON format to successfully generate hand-drawn sketches without manual drawing software.

Can I generate flowcharts and architectural sketches without using complex software?▼

Yes, you can generate flowcharts and architectural sketches directly in your terminal by writing JSON code. This eliminates the need for manual drawing or complex software, simplifying rapid diagram prototyping.

Do I need prior knowledge of JSON to use this terminal diagramming approach?▼

Yes, you need knowledge of the Excalidraw JSON element format and the ability to write JSON code to use this terminal diagramming approach. This prerequisite allows you to directly specify elements for your flowcharts and sketches.

What is the best way to rapidly prototype a diagram for a project meeting?▼

The best way to rapidly prototype a diagram for a project meeting is to write JSON code directly in your terminal, converting it into a hand-drawn sketch. This method allows you to quickly create and modify flowcharts or architectural diagrams on the fly.

Are there limitations when creating hand-drawn diagrams directly via JSON?▼

A limitation of creating hand-drawn diagrams via JSON is the requirement to understand the specific Excalidraw JSON element format. Without this knowledge, you cannot easily define the shapes and arrows needed for your architectural sketches.
