SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Backlogs often become chaotic and subjective, making it hard to decide what to build next. This skill provides a structured, data-driven approach to transform a messy backlog into a clearly prioritized roadmap using proven frameworks like RICE, MoSCoW, and weighted scoring.

Core Features & Use Cases

Applies RICE scoring to estimate reach, impact, confidence, and effort for each backlog item to produce a defensible priority.
Uses MoSCoW classification to categorize items by necessity and stakeholder impact.
Supports weighted scoring to balance multiple dimensions (demand, strategy, feasibility, etc.) and align with organizational goals.
Generates a ranked backlog with transparent rationale, enabling stakeholder alignment and auditable decisions.
Provides roadmapping guidance and sequencing suggestions based on the final priorities.

Quick Start

Provide your backlog items and run the prioritization workflow to generate a ranked roadmap.

FAQPage Schema

How do I prioritize a backlog using RICE and MoSCoW frameworks?▼

To prioritize a backlog using RICE and MoSCoW, you apply structured scoring to estimate reach, impact, confidence, and effort, then classify items by necessity. This produces a defensible, data-driven priority ranking for your roadmap.

What is the best way to turn a messy product backlog into a data-driven roadmap?▼

The best way to turn a messy backlog into a data-driven roadmap is by applying weighted scoring and MoSCoW classification. This balances multiple dimensions like demand and strategy to generate a ranked backlog with transparent rationale.

How does weighted scoring align backlog priorities with strategic goals?▼
