FAQPage Schema

How do I automate design to code mappings in Figma?▼

Figma Code Connect automates design to code mappings by using the Figma Code Connect API to analyze your codebase and suggest corresponding code components for design elements. You provide a Figma URL with a valid node ID to generate these automated suggestions.

What is Figma Code Connect and how does it work for component mapping?▼

Figma Code Connect is a feature that establishes connections between Figma design components and their corresponding code implementations. It works by analyzing your codebase to identify unmapped design components and suggesting potential code matches for manual selection or batch creation.

What do I need to generate Code Connect suggestions for a Figma component?▼

To generate Code Connect suggestions, you need access to your target codebase and a Figma URL containing a valid node ID. The skill uses these inputs to perform component analysis in your codebase and accurately map the design element to its corresponding code.

Can I create multiple Figma component mappings in a single operation?▼

Yes, you can create multiple Figma component mappings in a single operation. The skill supports batch creation, allowing you to streamline your workflow by establishing several design-code connections simultaneously after reviewing the automated suggestions.

Does the Figma Code Connect skill automatically link design components to code?▼

The skill identifies unmapped Figma design components and suggests potential code components from your codebase, but requires manual selection to finalize the link. This ensures accuracy while automating the discovery phase of the design-code mapping process.

What are the limitations of automating Figma Code Connect for component mapping?▼

The main limitation of automating Figma Code Connect is that it cannot operate without a valid Figma node ID and direct access to the target codebase. Additionally, automated suggestions require manual selection to ensure correct mappings before batch creation.
