Run npx skills find followed by a keyword describing your task, such as npx skills find react performance. You can also browse the skills.sh leaderboard to see the most installed skills by category.
Use npx skills add with the owner/repo@skill format, for example npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills@react-best-practices. Add the -g flag for global installation and -y to skip confirmation prompts.
Check the install count, preferring skills with over 1K installs, and verify the source reputation. Skills from official sources like vercel-labs or anthropics and repositories with strong GitHub star counts are more reliable.
If npx skills find returns no relevant results, the agent can handle the task directly with its general capabilities. You can also create your own reusable skill by running npx skills init with a custom name.
Run npx skills check to see which installed skills have updates available, then run npx skills update to update all installed skills to their latest versions.
