What problem does it solve?
Reading in a foreign language is hard when learners are forced to translate word-by-word. This skill provides a structured, interactive session that presents a short text in the target language, followed by guided questions and feedback to build comprehension and recall, plus a vocabulary review to support long-term retention.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Interactive, one-text sessions: a short text (100-500 words depending on level) followed by 4-6 comprehension questions and vocabulary extraction.
- Guided questioning with immediate feedback: questions are asked one at a time in the target language, with explanations that reference the text.
- Vocabulary reinforcement: optional addition of new words to the spaced-repetition queue for ongoing retention.
- Triggered by the command /fluent-reading: the session is gated to ensure a focused learning moment.
