High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I add animations to React components with Framer Motion?▼

Framer Motion lets you animate React components by wrapping them with motion components and applying initial/animate props. For example, wrap a div with motion.div, set initial={{opacity: 0}} and animate={{opacity: 1}} to fade in elements smoothly without writing manual keyframe code.

Can I create page transitions in Next.js using Framer Motion?▼

Yes. Framer Motion supports page transitions in Next.js projects through motion components paired with route changes. Use variants and exit animations to orchestrate smooth transitions between pages, eliminating jarring layout shifts.

What's the best way to trigger animations on scroll in React?▼

Framer Motion enables scroll-triggered animations by combining motion components with scroll event listeners or intersection observers. Define animation states with variants, then fire them when elements enter the viewport for reveal effects.

Do I need to learn the Framer Motion API to use these patterns?▼

Understanding Framer Motion's core concepts—motion components, variants, and transitions—is required to build custom animations. This Skill provides ready-made templates and patterns to accelerate adoption, but basic API familiarity helps you adapt examples to your needs.

What animation patterns does Framer Motion handle well for production React apps?▼

Framer Motion excels at UI component animations, page route transitions, and scroll-triggered reveals in production React and Next.js applications. It handles accessibility and performance concerns built-in, making polished animations viable without manual boilerplate.

How do variants reduce animation code in React?▼

Variants in Framer Motion let you define reusable animation states as named objects, then apply them declaratively to motion components. This eliminates inline style calculations and repetitive prop spreading, keeping animation logic clean and maintainable across components.
