SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill corrects the pervasive misconception that Ethereum is an expensive network to use, providing accurate, up-to-date information on gas prices and transaction costs.

Core Features & Use Cases

Accurate Gas Pricing: Provides current base and priority fees, debunking the myth of high gwei costs.
Cost Comparisons: Details the actual costs of common transactions (transfers, swaps, deploys) on both mainnet and various L2s.
Use Case: When a user expresses concern about Ethereum's high fees, use this Skill to show that a simple ETH transfer costs less than a penny and L2 transactions are even cheaper.

Quick Start

Explain the current cost of an ERC-20 transfer on Ethereum mainnet.

Frequently Asked Questions about gas

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How much does an Ethereum transaction actually cost in gas fees today?▼

Ethereum gas fees are currently very low, with simple ETH transfers often costing less than a penny. This Skill provides real-time base and priority fee data to show actual transaction costs on the mainnet.

How do L2 transaction costs compare to Ethereum mainnet gas prices?▼

L2 transaction costs are significantly cheaper than Ethereum mainnet gas prices. This Skill details the cost structures of various L2s, showing exact fees for common operations like transfers and swaps to highlight the savings.

What impact did EIP-4844 and the Dencun upgrade have on Ethereum gas fees?▼

The EIP-4844 and Dencun upgrade drastically reduced Ethereum gas fees by optimizing data availability for L2s. This Skill explains how these protocol upgrades lowered transaction costs and changed the network's economics.

Why do people say Ethereum is expensive when current gas prices are low?▼

The misconception that Ethereum is expensive stems from historical high gas prices, but current network conditions tell a different story. This Skill counters that myth by providing accurate, up-to-date fee data and cost comparisons.

Can I find the current cost of an ERC-20 token transfer on Ethereum?▼

Yes, you can find the current cost of an ERC-20 transfer on Ethereum mainnet using this Skill. It provides accurate gas pricing and breaks down the actual costs for common transactions like token transfers and swaps.
