Frequently Asked Questions about gate-validation-discipline

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What is evidence-based gate validation in software engineering?▼

Evidence-based gate validation prevents premature completion by requiring direct examination of artifacts, precise citation of proof, and alignment with criteria to ensure auditability and accountability across checkpoints.

How do I verify completion status for a checkpoint using actual artifacts?▼

To verify completion status, you must read actual evidence and screenshots rather than relying on reports, quote exact outputs and file paths, and complete a mandatory verification loop checklist for each gate.

How do I enforce citation of exact outputs and file paths during an audit?▼

Enforce citation during an audit by requiring direct examination of evidence and mandatory quoting of exact outputs, file paths, and screenshots to validate pass/fail status for each gate checkpoint.

Does gate validation work with sub-agents and external references for verification pipelines?▼

Yes, gate validation integrates with sub-agents and references to provide a repeatable completion-verification workflow, standardizing the validation loop across complex software engineering pipelines.

When should I use direct evidence examination instead of relying on completion reports?▼

You should use direct evidence examination instead of reports when auditability and accountability are critical, preventing premature completion by verifying that actual artifacts align with gate criteria.
