SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires patina, and includes scripts (resource) and assets (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

The Skill solves the problem of creating custom, tiled PBR materials for procedural surfaces in 3D scenes, without manual texture creation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Material Generation: Automates the creation of PBR materials with maps like BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metalness, and Height from a text prompt.
Use Case: For generating a ground texture with a specific style, palette, and tiling properties in a 3D environment.

Quick Start

Generate a tiled PBR material with the prompt "cartoon grass, vibrant green palette, seamlessly tiling, no border artefacts, top-down view, no shadows."

Frequently Asked Questions about generate-material

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate seamless PBR materials from a text prompt?▼

You can generate seamless PBR materials by providing a text prompt that specifies the desired texture style, color palette, and tiling properties. The skill automates creating BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metalness, and Height maps directly from your text description.

What is the best way to texture procedural surfaces like ground and grass in 3D scenes?▼

Texturing procedural surfaces like ground, water, and grass is best handled by generating custom tiled PBR materials from text prompts. This approach outputs essential maps like BaseColor, Normal, and Height to seamlessly texture your 3D environment without manual texture creation.

Do I need PATINA to generate PBR texture maps with this skill?▼

Yes, you need PATINA installed to generate PBR texture maps. The skill relies on the PATINA tool to process your text prompts and automatically produce the required BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metalness, and Height maps for your 3D assets.

Can I create a custom ground texture with a specific color palette and no border artifacts?▼

Yes, you can create a custom ground texture by using a prompt that specifies your desired style, color palette, and includes terms like seamlessly tiling and no border artefacts. This ensures the generated PBR material maps fit your specific 3D environment requirements.

What PBR maps are included when generating materials for 3D rendering?▼

Generating materials for 3D rendering includes BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metalness, and Height maps. These PBR maps are automatically produced from your text prompt to provide physically accurate surface details for your procedural 3D scenes.
