What problem does it solve?

Append a Co-authored-by trailer to commits the AI helped author. It provides a durable attribution signal in git logs and blame, and should be loaded whenever a commit is created or amended — including commits dispatched by higher-level commit skills or via the GitHub MCP.

  • Append Co-authored-by trailers to commits written by AI agents.
  • Preserve existing trailers and allow multiple trailers when multiple agents contributed.
  • Ensure trailers are added during git commit, git commit -m, git commit --amend, and in automated workflows.
