High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate GNS3 node management for network labs?▼

Automating GNS3 node management involves using MCP tools to add devices from templates, control power states, and retrieve console access within GNS3 projects. This Skill provides tools like gns3_create_node and gns3_start_node to streamline simulated network provisioning.

What do I need to configure to control GNS3 nodes via MCP?▼

To control GNS3 nodes, you need to configure the GNS3_URL, GNS3_USER, and GNS3_PASSWORD environment variables. These credentials allow the MCP server to authenticate and interact with your GNS3 project.

Can I perform bulk power actions on nodes in a GNS3 project?▼

Yes, you can perform bulk power actions on nodes in a GNS3 project using the gns3_bulk_node_action tool. This allows you to start, stop, suspend, or reload multiple nodes simultaneously for efficient lifecycle management.

How do I get console access to a GNS3 node for troubleshooting?▼

You can retrieve console access details for a GNS3 node by using the gns3_get_node_console tool. This provides the necessary information to connect directly to the node for configuration and troubleshooting.

Is there a way to reload a GNS3 node after making configuration changes?▼

Yes, the gns3_reload_node tool allows you to reload a GNS3 node after configuration changes. This ensures the device applies the new settings and restarts cleanly within the simulated network.

How do I list available nodes in a GNS3 project?▼

You can list available nodes in a GNS3 project by using the gns3_list_nodes tool. This helps identify existing devices in your network lab before performing start, stop, or console access operations.
