FAQPage Schema

How do I manage layered Go configuration with defaults and overrides?▼

You can load Go configuration from multiple sources by applying layered defaults, user and repository overrides, environment variables, and CLI flags. This skill uses go-cfgstore to structure schema loading and persistence across projects.

What is the best way to validate Go config schemas and report errors?▼

Validating Go config schemas with clear error reporting is handled using go-dt types and doterr patterns. This enforces structured validation so configuration errors are precise and actionable during the loading process.

How do I load Go configuration from environment variables and CLI flags?▼

Loading Go configuration from environment variables and CLI flags involves defining a typed schema and applying layered overrides. The go-cfgstore library structures this loading sequence across defaults, environment, and flags for Go projects.

Why does my Go configuration become scattered and hard to test?▼

Go configuration often becomes scattered and brittle without a structured approach. Defining typed schemas and persistence with go-cfgstore centralizes loading, making configurations testable and consistent across projects.

Does go-cfgstore support typed config schemas with environment overrides?▼

Yes, go-cfgstore supports typed config schemas with layered defaults, environment overrides, and repository settings. It structures validation and error reporting using go-dt types and doterr patterns for Go projects.
