Frequently Asked Questions about google-ads-experiments

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I calculate sample size and duration for Google Ads experiments?▼

To run reliable Google Ads experiments, you must pre-calculate the minimum sample size and test duration before launching a 50/50 split trial. This ensures your ad copy, landing page, or bidding strategy tests achieve actual statistical significance.

What is the best way to A/B test ad copy variants in Google Ads?▼

The best way to A/B test ad copy is to draft a precise hypothesis, select an experiment type like Ad Variation Tests, and run a 50/50 split trial. This measures the impact of your variants with statistical significance to find reliable performance improvements.

Can I use Google Ads experiments to test bidding strategies?▼

Yes, you can use Campaign Experiments to test bidding strategy changes. You need adequate campaign traffic, a predefined hypothesis, and a primary metric to measure the impact accurately and decide whether to roll out the winning bidding strategy.

Why do my Google Ads A/B tests keep returning inconclusive results?▼

Google Ads A/B tests often return inconclusive results if you lack predefined decision criteria, pre-calculated sample sizes, or adequate traffic. Setting a strict test duration and a clear hypothesis before running the trial prevents wasting budget on unreliable data.

What types of Google Ads experiments can I run to improve campaign performance?▼

You can run Campaign Experiments, Ad Variation Tests, and Custom Experiments. These formats allow you to test ad copy variants, landing page changes, and bidding strategies by measuring impact against predefined primary metrics with statistical significance.
