SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill addresses the danger of hidden assumptions and overlooked risks in project plans by forcing a rigorous, adversarial review process that surfaces unknown unknowns before implementation begins.

Core Features & Use Cases

Four-Quadrant Classification: Categorizes gaps into known-knowns, known-unknowns, unknown-knowns, and unknown-unknowns to prioritize focus.
Seven Blindspot Lenses: Applies specific analytical frameworks—including scale, security, failure modes, and rollback—to identify structural weaknesses.
Use Case: Use this when you have a draft architecture or project plan and need to ensure the team hasn't missed critical edge cases or irreversible trade-offs.

Quick Start

Ask the agent to grill the current plan for unknowns by applying the seven blindspot lenses to the project documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions about grill-for-unknowns

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I identify hidden risks and architectural gaps in a draft project plan?▼

To identify hidden risks and architectural gaps, you can adversarially stress-test project plans by classifying assumptions into a four-quadrant matrix and evaluating them against seven predefined blindspot lenses to surface unknown unknowns.

What is the four-quadrant classification method for risk assessment in software architecture?▼

The four-quadrant classification method categorizes project gaps into known-knowns, known-unknowns, unknown-knowns, and unknown-unknowns, allowing teams to systematically prioritize focus on material decisions and hidden assumptions during design review.

How do I apply blindspot lenses to review a technical design for failure modes?▼

To review a technical design, apply seven specific analytical blindspot lenses—covering scale, security, failure modes, and rollback—to rigorously evaluate the architecture and identify structural weaknesses before implementation begins.

When do I need to use adversarial code review and risk assessment for product planning?▼

You need adversarial risk assessment during software engineering and product planning phases when you have a draft architecture and must ensure the team has not missed critical edge cases or irreversible trade-offs before committing to implementation.

What are the limitations of using an adversarial approach to find unknown unknowns in project plans?▼

The limitation of this adversarial approach is that it requires a draft architecture or project plan to already exist, and it focuses strictly on surfacing structural weaknesses rather than generating new design solutions or writing implementation code.
