What problem does it solve?

Build software products autonomously by orchestrating GSD in headless mode from a spec to a deliverable. It coordinates writing a spec, launching a build, monitoring progress, handling blockers, tracking costs, and verifying outcomes.

Core Features & Use Cases

Orchestrates end-to-end software construction from a spec using gsd headless.
Handles blocking scenarios, cost tracking, and milestone verification for autonomous projects.
Use case: you want a fully automated build flow that goes from spec.md to a working artifact with git history.

Quick Start

Create a milestone from a spec and let GSD drive execution to completion.

Frequently Asked Questions about gsd-orchestrator

FAQPage Schema

How do I autonomously build software from a spec to a deliverable?▼

Autonomous software construction from a spec is achieved by orchestrating GSD in headless mode. The agent coordinates writing a spec, launching a build, monitoring progress, handling blockers, and verifying outcomes to produce a working artifact.

How does headless build orchestration work for autonomous software development?▼

Headless build orchestration works by driving GSD as a subprocess using shell commands, exit codes, and JSON output. This CLI model allows the agent to plan, code, test, and deliver milestones without interactive UI sessions.

Can I track build costs and handle blockers during automated project creation?▼

Tracking build costs and handling blockers during automated project creation is supported natively. The orchestration model monitors ongoing progress, manages blocking scenarios, and verifies milestones throughout the end-to-end build flow.

What is the best way to automate a build flow that generates git history from spec.md?▼

Automating a spec.md to git history build flow is best handled by headless GSD orchestration. It creates a milestone from the spec and drives execution to completion, resulting in a working artifact with full git history.

Does headless software orchestration require interactive UI sessions to monitor milestones?▼

Headless software orchestration does not require interactive UI sessions. It enforces a CLI headless orchestration model using shell commands and exit codes, allowing fully automated milestone verification and progress monitoring.

When should I use headless build automation for software development milestones?▼

Headless build automation for software development milestones should be used when you need a fully automated build flow. It is ideal for build-from-spec workflows, project creation, and ongoing monitoring where the agent must autonomously plan and deliver.
