What problem does it solve?
HexWatershed provides an end-to-end workflow to delineate watersheds using a mesh-independent flow model on DEM data, enabling automated, repeatable hydrological analyses.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Generate hexagonal or other polygonal meshes from DEMs and run the full flow routing and watershed delineation pipeline.
- Produce per-watershed JSON, characteristics, and CSV-like outputs for downstream analysis and validation.
- Integrate with Python tools (PyFlowline, PyHexWatershed) for mesh generation, flowline preparation, and post-processing in research settings.
Quick Start
