SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Hive Workflow enables AI agents to coordinate work by providing a local, git-backed system for creating, updating, and tracking issues and tasks, reducing duplication and miscommunication.

Core Features & Use Cases

Git-backed hive for persistent task tracking across sessions.
Structured cells for bugs, features, tasks, etc., with state transitions such as open → in_progress → closed.
Epic management and swarm coordination for parallel work.
Use cases include coordinating bug fixes, feature development, and epic initiatives in AI agent swarms.

Quick Start

Initialize a hive in your repository and create a first cell to begin tracking work.

FAQPage Schema

How do I coordinate task tracking for AI agents using git?▼

Git-backed task tracking for AI agents uses a local hive system to create and update issues, enabling swarm coordination and persistent state synchronization across sessions. It reduces duplication by managing work locally.

What is a local-first hive system for AI workflow management?▼

A local-first hive system is a git-backed issue tracking architecture that manages bugs, features, and epics for AI agents. It applies structured cells with state transitions like open to in_progress to closed to coordinate parallel workers.

How do I manage epic initiatives and parallel work in an AI swarm?▼

Epic management in an AI swarm involves creating structured cells for features or tasks and coordinating state transitions across multiple workers. This local hive approach synchronizes parallel work via git-backed commands to track progress.

Can I use hive commands to synchronize issue state transitions across sessions?▼

Yes, hive commands support git-backed synchronization for issue state transitions, allowing AI agents to persist cell updates like open to closed across sessions. This ensures consistent task tracking without requiring external databases.

Do I need external dependencies to track bugs and features with a local hive?▼

No external dependencies are required to track bugs and features with a local hive. The system operates entirely local-first, using your existing git repository to back task management and synchronize issue states for AI agents.

When should I use a local hive workflow instead of other task management tools?▼

Use a local hive workflow when you need git-backed issue tracking and epic management for coordinating AI agent swarms without external databases. It is ideal for reducing miscommunication in local-first development environments.
