SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This incident management framework provides a structured approach to triage, communicate, mitigate, and postmortem outages, reducing mean time to recovery and improving reliability.

Core Features & Use Cases

Triage and policy-driven escalation for incidents
Clear incident commander role assignment and communications cadence
Postmortem capture and actionable learnings to prevent recurrence

Quick Start

Describe the incident context and trigger the response flow by running the agent with the incident keywords.

Frequently Asked Questions about incident-management

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I manage an outage with structured incident response?▼

Structured incident response manages outages through deterministic phases covering triage, communications, mitigation, and postmortems to reduce mean time to recovery. It assigns incident roles and specifies escalation requirements.

What is the best way to triage software service incidents?▼

Triage software service incidents using a policy-driven approach that assigns an incident commander and establishes a clear communications cadence. This ensures structured mitigation and actionable postmortem learnings to prevent recurrence.

How does incident commander role assignment work during an outage?▼

Incident commander role assignment works by designating a single leader to coordinate the outage response, enforce communications cadence, and drive mitigation efforts. This role is mandatory within the deterministic incident response phases.

Can I use this for on-call scenarios and postmortem reviews?▼

Yes, you can use this for on-call scenarios and postmortem reviews. It covers the full incident lifecycle from triage to mitigation, and mandates postmortem capture to produce actionable learnings that prevent future outages.

What is included in an incident management communications cadence?▼

An incident management communications cadence includes mandatory output updates coordinated by the incident commander during an outage. It ensures stakeholders receive timely information throughout the triage, mitigation, and recovery phases.

Do I need a runbook to trigger the incident response flow?▼

You do not need a runbook to trigger the incident response flow. You simply describe the incident context and run the agent with incident keywords to initiate the structured triage, mitigation, and postmortem process.
