SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Efficiently bootstrap, refresh, and validate the Mycelium symbol index so that queries are fast, accurate, and available across the codebase.

Core Features & Use Cases

Bootstrap the symbol index for a new workspace to enable immediate querying.
Reload a persisted index from disk to avoid full re-indexing when possible.
Monitor server readiness and coordinate index-related tasks across the agent lifecycle.
Use case: start a new project, index_workspace to prepare the environment; after edits, sync_file to refresh results.

Quick Start

Instruct the agent to bootstrap the index for a project path and verify readiness before querying.

Frequently Asked Questions about index-management

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I bootstrap a symbol index for a new workspace?▼

To bootstrap a symbol index for a new workspace, use the index_workspace tool to build the index and enable immediate codebase querying. You should then verify server readiness before executing any queries.

What is the best way to reload a saved symbol index from disk?▼

Reloading a saved symbol index from disk is handled by the load_index tool, which restores a persisted snapshot. This avoids full re-indexing and provides faster availability for querying.

How do I refresh the symbol index after editing files?▼

To refresh the symbol index after file edits, use the sync_file tool to update the index incrementally. This ensures your query results reflect the latest codebase changes accurately.

Why does my symbol index query return stale or unavailable results?▼

Stale or unavailable symbol index queries occur when the server is not fully ready or the index is outdated. Use the server_status tool to validate readiness and sync_file to refresh changed files.

Can I monitor the reactive symbol index status during an agent lifecycle?▼

Yes, you can monitor the reactive symbol index using the watch_status and subscription_status tools. These coordinate index-related tasks and track server readiness across the entire agent lifecycle.

Do I need to validate server readiness before querying the Mycelium symbol graph?▼

Validating server readiness before querying the Mycelium symbol graph is required to ensure accurate results. The server_status tool checks if the reactive index is fully loaded and available for queries.
