SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Decision paralysis and ad hoc reasoning slow progress; this framework provides repeatable methods to evaluate options and capture rationale for revisiting later.

Core Features & Use Cases

Decision Matrix: compare options against weighted criteria to surface a recommended path.
Reversibility Analysis: assess whether decisions are reversible and plan safe escape routes.
Pre-Mortem: enumerate plausible failure modes and mitigation strategies before committing.
Decision Record: document context, options, criteria, outcomes, and planned review checkpoints.

Quick Start

Ask it to evaluate three options using a weighted criteria matrix to produce a documented decision note.

Frequently Asked Questions about intelligence/decision-framework

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I evaluate multiple options using a weighted decision matrix?▼

A weighted decision matrix compares 3-5 options against your defined criteria and assigned weights to surface a recommended path. The framework outputs a documented decision note capturing the rationale and planned review checkpoints for later reference.

What is reversibility analysis and when do I need it for decision making?▼

Reversibility analysis assesses whether a decision can be undone and plans safe escape routes. You need it when facing high-risk choices in product strategy or operations, allowing you to mitigate commitment risks before moving forward with a documented decision.

How do I run a pre-mortem analysis before committing to a decision?▼

A pre-mortem analysis enumerates plausible failure modes and maps mitigation strategies before you commit to an option. It is applied within the decision framework after selecting a recommended path to proactively address risk considerations.

How do I document decision rationale to avoid decision paralysis?▼

You document decision rationale by creating a decision record that captures context, options, criteria, outcomes, and review checkpoints. This structured workflow replaces ad hoc reasoning and provides a repeatable method to revisit choices later.

Can I use this framework for operational decisions with 3-5 options?▼

Yes, the decision framework is applicable to leadership, product strategy, and operational decisions involving 3-5 options. It requires structured inputs including a list of options, evaluation criteria, and weights to generate a documented decision note.

What inputs do I need to start structured decision evaluation?▼

You need a list of 3-5 options, evaluation criteria, assigned weights, and a decision-record workflow. Providing these structured inputs enables the framework to produce a documented decision note with rationale and planned review checkpoints.
