What problem does it solve?

It eliminates the manual, error-prone task of estimating how much AI usage cost and engineering time went into a pull request by automatically computing token cost and implementation time and stamping a consistent summary directly into the PR description.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Token and USD cost tracking: Computes Claude Code usage token aggregates and estimated USD cost (via ccusage, with a fallback to project scripts).
  • Implementation time estimation: Calculates active and calendar time for development (and review when enabled) using idle-gap and calendar windows.
  • Attribution and reviewer visibility: Detects external AI reviewers from PR reviews/comments and optionally attributes based on configured directive identity rules.
  • Idempotent PR body upsert: Replaces or appends a marked Markdown block so repeated runs do not duplicate content.

Quick Start

Ask an AI agent to run kata-pr-cost-stamp on your PR so it computes AI usage cost and time and upserts the stamped summary block into the PR body using gh pr edit.
