SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This skill codifies and coordinates MCS labeling and CUI catalog rules across multiple national catalogs, ensuring consistent classifications and synchronized policy mappings.

Core Features & Use Cases

Define LEVELS.json and the Five Eyes nation catalogs, ensuring canonical mappings.
Synchronize setrans.conf translations with nation-specific MCS categories to maintain alignment.
Validate cross-references between MCS labels, CUI categories, and policy constraints, enabling auditable governance.
Trigger label catalog edits or MCS category assignments in umrs-labels to apply standardized rules.

Quick Start

Apply the standard MCS labeling rules to your label catalogs and translation mappings.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate MCS labeling and CUI catalog management across Five Eyes nations?▼

Synchronize setrans.conf translations with nation-specific MCS categories to maintain alignment across Five Eyes contexts. This validation process checks cross-references between MCS labels, CUI categories, and policy constraints to ensure accurate, auditable governance.

What is the best way to validate cross-references between MCS labels and CUI categories?▼

Can I use this approach to manage CUI catalogs for both US and Canadian classifications?▼

Yes, managing CUI catalogs for US and Canadian classifications is supported through nation-specific files like US-CUI-LABELS.json and CANADIAN-PROTECTED.json. These files maintain canonical mappings and consistent MCS translations across Five Eyes partner nations.

How do I edit label catalogs to apply standardized MCS category assignments?▼

Edit label catalogs by triggering label catalog edits or MCS category assignments in umrs-labels to apply standardized rules. This applies the defined LEVELS.json constraints and setrans.conf translations to maintain accurate, synchronized policy mappings.

Why does setrans.conf lose translation alignment with nation-specific MCS categories?▼

setrans.conf loses alignment when JSON schema and category range constraints are not enforced across nation-specific CUI catalogs. Synchronizing these translations with canonical LEVELS.json mappings prevents inconsistent MCS classifications and maintains auditable governance.
