What problem does it solve?

Provision remote Linux hosts that host the OpenScientist agent stack, enabling end-to-end lifecycle management from registration to retirement.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Register new machines in the OpenScientist machines index, establish SSH ControlMaster tunnels, and stage the cloud-run bundle.
  • Install and configure plane/kimi, with optional provider CLIs (Claude and Codex), and support deprovisioning and removal from the registry.
  • Once setup completes, day-to-day operation of a provisioned machine is handled by the sibling machine-use skill.

Quick Start

Run setup.sh <name> (or setup.sh --from-ssh-config <alias>) to register, provision, and ready a new machine.
