SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps knowledge-space researchers systematically map relationships among knowledge items, identify latent competences (CbKST), and seed surmise relations to bootstrap concept and competence discovery within knowledge graphs.

Core Features & Use Cases

Organize knowledge items hierarchically (superordinate, coordinate, subordinate) and group by topics and tags.
Identify item-level relationships (prerequisite-of, is-a, part-of, co-requisite, related-to) to support concept-map construction and competence mapping.
Discover latent competences that underlie item clusters, assign required_competences per item, and explore competence relations with FCA-informed validation.
Cross-link items across branches to reveal transfer potential and hidden bridges between domains; optionally apply FCA to validate the concept lattice.
Produce draft surmise seeds (prerequisite-of, part-of) for /building-surmise-relations and seed the knowledge-space pipeline.

Quick Start

Assign a set of knowledge items to competences, map relationships, and generate the initial concept map.

Frequently Asked Questions about mapping-concepts-and-competences

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I map concepts and discover latent competences in a knowledge graph?▼

To map concepts and discover latent competences, organize knowledge items hierarchically and identify item-level relationships like prerequisite-of and part-of to construct a concept map and draft skill map.

What is CbKST and how does it apply to competence-based knowledge spaces?▼

CbKST, or Competence-based Knowledge Space Theory, identifies latent competences underlying item clusters and assigns required competences per item, using FCA-informed validation to explore competence relations within knowledge spaces.

How do I generate surmise seeds for building knowledge-space relations?▼

Generate surmise seeds by cross-linking items across branches to reveal transfer potential, then producing draft prerequisite-of and part-of relations to bootstrap the knowledge-space pipeline for surmise relation building.

Can I use FCA to validate a concept lattice for education research workflows?▼

Yes, you can optionally apply Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to validate the concept lattice when cross-linking items across domains to uncover hidden bridges and ensure competence mapping accuracy.

Do I need a curated set of knowledge items with metadata to build a concept map?▼

Yes, building a concept map requires a curated set of knowledge items with metadata and an initial graph to output the concept map, surmise seeds, and a draft skill map.

What item-level relationships are used to structure a knowledge graph for concept mapping?▼

Concept mapping structures knowledge graphs using superordinate, coordinate, and subordinate hierarchies, plus relationships like prerequisite-of, is-a, part-of, co-requisite, and related-to to group items by topics and tags.
