SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Marketplaces often struggle to reach reliable liquidity—matching buyers and sellers quickly as supply and demand dynamics shift across regions and categories. This skill provides frameworks to diagnose, design interventions, and measure progress to improve match rates and overall marketplace health.

Core Features & Use Cases

Liquidity diagnosis: define and track key metrics like fill rate, reliability, and local density.
Intervention design: identify where to focus on supply, demand, or matching improvements to raise liquidity.
Use Case: when expansion introduces new regions with fragmented demand, apply the framework to re balance supply and improve matches.

Quick Start

Turn on liquidity measurement for your marketplace and run an initial diagnostic on supply vs demand.

FAQPage Schema

How do I improve marketplace liquidity when matching buyers and sellers is slow?▼

Marketplace liquidity is measured by tracking fill rate, matching reliability, and local density across regions or categories. These metrics reveal how quickly and consistently buyers and sellers are matched, forming the baseline for diagnosing liquidity issues.

How do I balance supply and demand when expanding a two-sided market into new regions?▼

Balance supply and demand during expansion by applying a liquidity framework to identify fragmented demand and low-density areas. This allows you to prescribe data-driven interventions that onboard new suppliers and improve geographic matching.

Can I use this liquidity framework for a marketplace at any scale?▼

Yes, this liquidity framework applies to marketplaces at any scale. It is designed to support onboarding new suppliers, growing demand, and improving category or geographic density regardless of your current marketplace size.

What is the best way to diagnose a low fill rate in a two-sided market?▼

The best way to diagnose a low fill rate is to run an initial diagnostic comparing supply versus demand. This helps identify whether to focus on adding supply, growing demand, or improving matching algorithms to raise the fill rate.

Why does my two-sided marketplace struggle with matching reliability in specific categories?▼

Matching reliability often struggles in specific categories due to low local density and fragmented demand. The framework helps identify these gaps and prescribes measurement plans and guardrails to ensure consistent matching performance.
