SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

It helps groups avoid shallow or one-sided decisions by structuring how different perspectives reveal tensions, tradeoffs, and needed improvements before committing to action.

Core Features & Use Cases

Perspective-based synthesis: Turns stakeholder, discipline, values, and time-horizon inputs into a structured set of “sees, misses, asks, contributes” spokes around a central judgement.
Tension identification: Names genuine disagreements without prematurely forcing consensus, making tradeoffs explicit.
Actionable output: Produces proposal improvement guidance (keep/change/test/stop) and a single next responsible step with evidence or permission requirements.

Three Horizons

Use Case: After running scoping, mapping, Three Horizons, and dilemma navigation, use this skill to synthesize insights into a wiser next step for a school or community design decision.

Quick Start

Use the multi-perspective-decision-wheel skill to produce a decision wheel for “Should we adopt proposal X for year Y?” including 4–6 perspectives, at least one named tension, and a next responsible step with evidence or permission needs.

Frequently Asked Questions about multi-perspective-decision-wheel

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I synthesize multiple stakeholder perspectives into a single group decision?▼

To synthesize multiple stakeholder perspectives into a group decision, structure inputs into a wheel format using sees, misses, asks, and contributes categories per perspective. This method surfaces tradeoffs and tensions before committing to an actionable next step.

What is the best way to structure multi-perspective decision-making for education planning?▼

Multi-perspective decision-making for education planning is structured by gathering stakeholder, disciplinary, values, and time-horizon inputs. You name tensions explicitly and generate proposal improvements like keep, change, test, or stop before finalizing a recommendation.

How do I facilitate group decisions without forcing premature consensus?▼

Facilitate group decisions without premature consensus by identifying and naming genuine tensions between perspectives. Structuring inputs into sees, misses, asks, and contributes categories makes tradeoffs explicit rather than forcing an immediate agreement.

Can I use this decision synthesis method for community planning after initial scoping?▼

You can use this decision synthesis method for community planning after completing initial inquiry steps like scoping, mapping, and dilemma navigation. It requires a minimum of four perspectives to produce a validated decision wheel output.

What output format does the multi-perspective decision wheel generate?▼

The multi-perspective decision wheel generates a validated output requiring four or more perspectives, named tensions, sees/misses/asks/contributes per perspective, proposal improvements, and a single next responsible step with evidence or permission limits.

When should I avoid using a structured perspective synthesis wheel?▼

You should avoid using a structured perspective synthesis wheel when the task requires factual recall rather than judgement. It is designed specifically for complex design challenges or group decisions that require synthesizing differing viewpoints.
