What problem does it solve?

This Skill removes the friction of setting up image generation workflows by giving you an MCP-accessible interface to produce, edit, and reuse images using Google Gemini models.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Gemini-powered image generation: Create images from prompts with automatic model tier routing for speed vs quality, plus 4K output and aspect-ratio control for platform-ready dimensions.
  • Image editing (including masked inpainting): Modify existing images using prompts and optional mask inputs to target specific regions.
  • File upload for grounded context: Upload reference images via Gemini Files API so generations can stay consistent with a subject or style.
  • Use case: Create a set of consistent product photos (hero shot, detail shots, and lifestyle variants) by generating images at the right aspect ratios, then editing and refining the best candidates.

Quick Start

Configure your GEMINI_API_KEY in your MCP client and ask to generate a 4K square product photo with aspect_ratio set to 1:1 using the nanobanana MCP server.
