SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Troubleshooting playbook for common NeqSim failures. USE WHEN: a simulation fails to converge, produces unexpected results, throws exceptions, or gives zero/NaN values. Covers flash non-convergence, recycle divergence, equipment errors, phase identification issues, and numerical problems.

Core Features & Use Cases

Ranked recovery strategies for common failure modes.
Step-by-step guidance to diagnose and resolve convergence, phase, or equipment issues.
Real-world use case: apply the playbook when TPflash or recycle loops diverge to restore a valid operating point.

Quick Start

Follow the ranked steps in order, stopping when the issue is resolved.

FAQPage Schema

How do I fix NeqSim simulation convergence failures?▼

NeqSim simulation convergence failures are resolved by applying ranked recovery strategies that diagnose flash non-convergence, recycle divergence, and equipment errors to restore a valid operating point.

Why does my NeqSim TPflash calculation diverge and return NaN values?▼

NeqSim TPflash calculations diverge and return NaN values due to flash non-convergence or numerical problems, which you can resolve using step-by-step guidance to diagnose phase identification issues and apply safe checks.

What is the best way to troubleshoot recycle divergence in oil and gas process simulations?▼

The best way to troubleshoot recycle divergence in oil and gas process simulations is to follow a ranked playbook that provides deterministic commands and recovery steps to restore expected results.

Do I need access to NeqSim core objects to resolve equipment and phase identification issues?▼

Yes, resolving equipment and phase identification issues requires access to NeqSim core objects to execute predefined recovery steps and deterministic commands within typical hydrocarbon systems.

How to address numerical problems and zero values in NeqSim hydrocarbon systems?▼

Address numerical problems and zero values in NeqSim hydrocarbon systems by following the ranked troubleshooting steps in order to identify failure modes and execute safe checks until the issue is resolved.
