SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires nettools-core.

What problem does it solve?

Evaluate and monitor AP radio conditions, channel utilization, resets, and client load using centralized NETTOOLS utilities to proactively identify degraded wireless health.

Core Features & Use Cases

RF health assessment: measures channel utilization, radio load, and RF instability indicators.
Scope-aware analysis: supports filtering by AP id/name, site, SSID, and client context to correlate issues.
Use Case: Network operators can preemptively identify APs with high utilization and plan capacity upgrades.

Quick Start

Run the RF health checker against an AP to generate a report showing utilization and neighboring AP context.

Frequently Asked Questions about net-ap-rf-health

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I check AP radio health and channel utilization?▼

To check AP radio health, analyze channel utilization, client load, and RF instability indicators across a specified AP scope. This process detects degraded wireless conditions by measuring radio load and resets to quantify overall health.

What is RF health assessment for wireless access points?▼

RF health assessment is the process of measuring channel utilization, radio load, and instability indicators to identify degraded wireless conditions. It helps network operators preemptively find APs with high utilization to plan capacity upgrades.

Can I filter AP RF health analysis by site, SSID, or client?▼

Yes, you can filter AP RF health analysis by AP id, site, SSID, client, and time window. This scope-aware analysis correlates issues by focusing on specific wireless contexts to pinpoint degraded conditions accurately.

Do I need python3 and nettools-core to monitor wifi AP client load?▼

Yes, monitoring wifi AP client load requires python3 and the nettools-core package. The tool relies on bundled NETTOOLS utilities and a configured wireless-controller adapter or fixture file to process the data.

What's the best way to diagnose degraded wireless conditions across multiple APs?▼

The best way to diagnose degraded wireless conditions is using centralized NETTOOLS utilities to evaluate AP radio resets and channel utilization. This approach quantifies RF instability and client load across multiple APs to locate failures.
