What problem does it solve?

Adds a new protected sidebar section in a Next.js project and validates its integration using lightweight node:test based checks instead of full Jest/Vitest setups.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Update app/components/app-sidebar.tsx to include the new group and links
  • Create protected pages under app/(protected)/<section>/<page>/page.tsx with a small client component and fetch calls to API routes
  • Implement API routes under app/api/<section>/<page>/route.ts to back the new pages
  • Provide a minimal node:test based test to assert the presence of the new links and routes
