SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the process of transforming raw product specifications written in Notion into structured implementation plans and detailed tasks, streamlining the development workflow.

Core Features & Use Cases

Spec Parsing: Accurately extracts requirements, acceptance criteria, and constraints from Notion pages.
Plan Generation: Creates detailed implementation plans with phases, dependencies, and timelines.
Task Creation: Generates granular tasks in a specified Notion database, complete with descriptions and acceptance criteria.
Use Case: A product manager writes a new feature spec in Notion. This Skill can then automatically create a project plan and break down the work into individual tasks for the engineering team, all linked back to the original spec.

Quick Start

Use the notion-spec-to-implementation skill to create an implementation plan and tasks from the Notion spec located at 'https://www.notion.so/your-spec-id'.

Frequently Asked Questions about notion-spec-to-implementation

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn a Notion spec into an implementation plan?▼

To generate project tasks from a Notion spec, automation parses the specification document to extract requirements and acceptance criteria, then creates granular tasks within a designated Notion database. This facilitates efficient project management by linking detailed tasks back to the original spec.

What is the best way to break down Notion requirements into actionable tasks?▼

The best way to break down Notion requirements into actionable tasks is by parsing the specification to extract acceptance criteria, then generating granular tasks complete with descriptions directly in your Notion database. This ensures all tasks are linked back to the original product spec.

Can I automatically create phased project breakdowns from a Notion database?▼

Yes, you can automatically create phased project breakdowns from a Notion database by parsing the specification document. The automation generates a detailed implementation plan with phases, dependencies, and timelines, then populates the database with corresponding tasks.

Does this workflow automation extract acceptance criteria from Notion pages?▼

Yes, this workflow automation accurately extracts acceptance criteria, constraints, and requirements from Notion pages. It parses the specification document to ensure the generated implementation plan and individual tasks align with the original project constraints.

How do I manage dependencies and timelines when generating tasks from a spec?▼

To manage dependencies and timelines when generating tasks from a spec, the automation creates a detailed implementation plan that structures the project into phases. It automatically maps dependencies and timelines before creating the granular tasks in your Notion database.
