SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Deep codebase discovery of ObjectScript projects using MCP tools, bridging the gap between raw tool output and high-level architectural understanding.

Core Features & Use Cases

Symbol Anchoring: locate definitions using iris_symbols and iris_symbols_local to confidently identify the target component.
Dependency Tracing: use docs_introspect to inspect callers and inheritance to map impact across the codebase.
Hierarchical Exploration: follow Extends to reveal inherited interfaces and structure, aiding onboarding and refactoring.

Quick Start

Anchor a symbol with iris_symbols to begin mapping the codebase, then trace callers with docs_introspect and explore inheritance via Extends to understand the architecture.

Frequently Asked Questions about objectscript-navigation

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I trace dependencies and map ObjectScript codebase architecture?▼

Trace ObjectScript dependencies by querying live IRIS namespaces via MCP tools like docs_introspect to inspect callers, map impact, and reveal structural inheritance across the codebase for architectural onboarding.

How does MCP tooling work with ObjectScript for code discovery?▼

MCP tooling bridges raw IRIS query output to high-level architectural understanding by using iris_symbols for symbol anchoring and docs_introspect for dependency tracing, revealing structural relationships across live namespaces and repository sources.

What do I need to inspect ObjectScript class definitions and source files?▼

You need MCP tooling such as iris_symbols, iris_symbols_local, and docs_introspect, plus Read access to class definitions and source files across live IRIS namespaces to perform dependency tracing and inheritance exploration.

Can I analyze inheritance and impact across live IRIS namespaces?▼

Yes, you can analyze inheritance and impact across live IRIS namespaces by using docs_introspect to inspect callers and follow Extends hierarchies, revealing inherited interfaces and structural dependencies for refactoring and onboarding.

What's the best way to onboard to an existing ObjectScript repository structure?▼

The best way to onboard to an ObjectScript repository is to anchor symbols with iris_symbols, trace callers with docs_introspect, and explore Extends inheritance to map architectural structure and dependencies across live namespaces.
