What problem does it solve?
This Skill helps you prune accumulated product complexity—features, options, settings, and UI surface area that no longer earn their place—by identifying what to remove, choosing the right removal strategy, and managing the transition.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Candidate identification: Find pruning targets using evidence like low usage, high maintenance cost, dependency liability, overlap/confusion, and cognitive overhead.
- Decisioning & categorization: Distinguish between prune outright, prune with migration, defer, and keep based on user impact and strategic value.
- Migration planning & execution: Design communication and timelines (announce → deprecate → remove) and measure outcomes after changes.
- When not to prune: Preserve features that are critical for a small high-value audience, required for compliance/accessibility, or part of an alternative-free workflow.
Quick Start
Use the skill to conduct a quarterly pruning audit and produce a removal plan that includes candidate selection, affected-user migration steps, and a measured rollout for one mature product.
