FAQPage Schema

How do I onboard a new service to an internal developer platform?▼

Onboarding a new service involves gathering requirements, selecting a golden path template, provisioning infrastructure, configuring observability and security, creating runbooks, and handing off ownership to the service team. This Skill guides you through each phase and enforces standardized outputs including a requirements document, provisioned resources, dashboards, alerts, and security validations.

What's included in a platform onboarding golden path?▼

A golden path is a pre-configured, standardized template that encodes infrastructure, observability setup, and security controls for a service type. It accelerates onboarding by eliminating custom design decisions, ensuring consistency across deployments, and reducing configuration errors and compliance risk.

Can I use this for migrating existing services to the platform?▼

Yes. Beyond new service deployments, this Skill applies to service migrations and platform capability adoption. It guides requirements gathering and phased provisioning so teams can migrate workloads while maintaining observability, security standards, and documented runbooks.

What security and observability steps are enforced during onboarding?▼

The Skill enforces security configuration validation and observability setup including dashboards and alerts. These are completed as part of the standardized onboarding phases, ensuring new services meet compliance requirements and are monitored from day one.

Do I need existing documentation or infrastructure templates to start?▼

No prerequisites are required. The Skill handles requirements gathering and golden path selection from scratch. It guides you through infrastructure provisioning, observability configuration, and runbook creation, producing complete, standardized outputs ready for team handoff.

How does this ensure consistency across multiple service onboardings?▼

Consistency is enforced through golden paths—standardized templates that encode infrastructure, security, and observability patterns. The Skill applies the same phased workflow and output requirements to every service, preventing drift and maintaining compliance across the platform.
