SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Pair programming reduces the inefficiency and risk of solo coding by enabling AI-assisted collaboration with real-time feedback, role management, and integrated testing.

Core Features & Use Cases

AI-assisted role management (Driver/Navigator/Switch)
Real-time code review, security scanning, and performance insights
Session templates, profiles, and learning-focused modes (Mentor, Debug, TDD)
Automatic testing, code generation, and refactoring guidance
Persistent sessions with history, exports, and sharing
Use Case: Teams collaborating on a feature with rapid iterations and continuous quality checks

Quick Start

Start a simple pairing session: claude-flow pair --start Start in TDD mode: claude-flow pair --start --mode tdd

Frequently Asked Questions about Pair Programming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How does AI-assisted pair programming improve solo coding workflows?▼

AI-assisted pair programming handles real-time code review by applying security scanning and performance insights during collaborative sessions. It utilizes configurable agents and profiles to execute deterministic tasks while providing immediate feedback on code quality.

How do I start a pair programming session in TDD mode?▼

Start a pair programming session in TDD mode by running the command interface with the TDD flag. This initiates a learning-focused session that integrates automatic testing, code generation, and refactoring guidance within the collaborative workflow.

Can I use session templates and profiles for different code review tasks?▼

Session templates and profiles support various code review tasks by allowing configurable agents for specific contexts. You can use learning-focused modes like Mentor, Debug, and TDD to tailor the collaborative environment to your team's rapid iteration needs.

What is the best way to manage driver and navigator roles during AI-assisted development?▼

The best way to manage driver and navigator roles is through the integrated role management system that supports automatic switching. This ensures continuous quality checks and real-time feedback while maintaining persistent session history for team collaboration.

Does pair programming session history support exports and sharing for team collaboration?▼

Pair programming session history supports exports and sharing for team collaboration through persistent sessions. This allows teams collaborating on a feature with rapid iterations to maintain continuous quality checks and review past interactions.
