SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Panning for Gold turns messy source material into an evaluated inventory of ideas that can be preserved as permanent outputs, ensuring nothing gets lost between agent runs or sessions.

Core Features & Use Cases

Extracts every idea thread from transcripts, brain dumps, and multi-topic notes without early filtering.
Evaluates the strongest threads and writes a gold-found synthesis file for long-term memory and Open Brain integration.
Supports phase-driven workflows: save raw input, generate thread inventories, perform evaluations, and synthesize outputs that can be captured by Open Brain.

Quick Start

Install the SKILL.md in your client's skill/rules directory, reload your AI client, and feed a transcript to begin extraction and creation of a gold-found synthesis.

Frequently Asked Questions about panning-for-gold

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I extract actionable ideas from voice transcripts and brain dumps?▼

To extract ideas from voice transcripts and brain dumps, you can process raw multi-topic notes through a phase-driven workflow that inventories every thread before filtering. This ensures no early ideas are lost during extraction.

What is the best way to organize messy multi-topic markdown exports into a permanent synthesis?▼

Organizing messy markdown exports involves extracting every thread, evaluating the strongest ones, and generating a permanent synthesis file. This process transforms scattered notes into a complete, evaluated inventory suitable for long-term memory.

Can I save raw transcript input to permanent files before evaluating the content?▼

Yes, saving raw transcript input to permanent files is supported as the initial phase. This ensures the original source material is preserved before the agent evaluates threads and generates the final synthesis outputs.

Does panning-for-gold work for building an Open Brain long-term memory system?▼

Yes, panning-for-gold is designed for Open Brain integration. It generates a gold-found synthesis file that captures evaluated ideas, making the outputs suitable for capturing and preserving long-term memory across sessions.

Why do my AI agents lose context when processing multi-topic notes between sessions?▼

Agents lose context when raw ideas are not saved to permanent files. By writing evaluations and generating a gold-found synthesis file inline, you preserve the complete inventory of ideas across agent runs and sessions.

What are the limitations of using early filtering for idea extraction from transcripts?▼

Early filtering limits idea extraction by discarding potentially valuable threads before they can be evaluated. A phase-driven extraction approach captures every thread first, ensuring a complete inventory before evaluating the top ideas.
