SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Automatically converts unstructured paper content into a consistent, structured analysis using an 8-dimensional framework, enabling scalable survey construction.

Core Features & Use Cases

8-Dimensional classification: assign the eight dimensions (Model Type, Method Category, Specific Method, Training Paradigm, Core Challenge, Evaluation Focus, Hardware Co-design, and Summary) to each paper with explicit evidence quotes.
Batch processing and scope flexibility: analyze single papers by arXiv ID/URL/local PDF or process a list of papers, topics, or PDFs for comprehensive reviews.
Output-ready documentation: generate per-paper analysis files that conform to the project’s templates and can feed downstream skills like gap-identify and taxonomy-build.

Quick Start

Process a paper by arXiv ID, URL, or local PDF and return a complete 8D analysis in paper_analysis_results.

Frequently Asked Questions about paper-analysis

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I analyze arXiv papers using a structured classification framework?▼

To analyze arXiv papers, you provide the arXiv ID, URL, or local PDF to the Skill. It then applies an 8-dimensional classification framework to generate a structured, evidence-backed analysis file for each paper.

What is the best way to batch analyze research papers for a comprehensive survey?▼

Batch analyzing research papers is handled by providing a list of topics, arXiv IDs, URLs, or PDFs. The Skill processes them collectively to produce structured analysis files with evidence tables and gap indicators for survey construction.

Can I extract evidence quotes from PDFs to support paper classification?▼

Yes, extracting evidence quotes from PDFs is supported during the classification process. The Skill assigns dimensional categories and includes explicit evidence quotes pointing directly to the source sections within the output file.

Does the paper analysis tool align classifications with a specific domain vocabulary?▼

Yes, the paper analysis tool aligns all classifications to an active domain profile vocabulary. This ensures consistent categorization across the 8 dimensions, including Model Type, Method Category, and Specific Method.

What are the limitations of automated paper analysis for gap identification?▼

Automated paper analysis focuses on converting unstructured content into structured 8D classifications with gap indicators. It requires a predefined domain profile vocabulary to function correctly and outputs structured files rather than autonomous research conclusions.

How do I prepare unstructured paper content for downstream taxonomy building?▼

Preparing unstructured paper content for taxonomy building involves processing it through the 8-dimensional framework. The Skill outputs ready-to-use per-paper analysis files containing evidence tables that directly feed downstream tasks.
