💡 This Skill requires matplotlib, pandas, numpy, papermill, and includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the generation of publication-quality figures and tables from experimental data, streamlining the process of creating visualizations for research papers.

Core Features & Use Cases

Automated Figure Generation: Generate line plots, bar charts, scatter plots, heatmaps, and box plots from data.
Table Generation: Create LaTeX tables for comparison and ablation studies.
Multi-panel Figures: Combine multiple plots into a single figure.
LaTeX Support: Generate LaTeX code for easy inclusion in papers.
Use Case: With a well-defined data structure and a figure plan, this Skill can create figures for a machine learning paper, saving the researcher hours of manual work.

Quick Start

Run the paper-figure skill with the following command:

paper-figure -p "path/to/your/paper-plan.md"

Frequently Asked Questions about paper-figure

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate publication-quality figure generation from CSV and JSON experiment data?▼

Automate publication-quality figure generation by providing a paper-plan.md specification and executing the Python script to transform CSV, JSON, or screen log experiment data into visualizations.

Can I generate LaTeX tables for ablation studies from experiment data?▼

Yes, you can generate LaTeX tables for ablation and comparison studies directly from structured experiment data, outputting formatted LaTeX code for immediate paper inclusion.

Do I need a specific file to specify multi-panel figures for my machine learning paper?▼

Yes, you need a paper-plan.md file to specify figure requirements and Python installed to execute the scripts that combine multiple plots into a single multi-panel figure.

What's the best way to create data-driven plots without manual matplotlib coding?▼

The best way to create data-driven plots without manual coding is using a plan-driven automation script that reads your figure specification and leverages matplotlib and pandas to generate visualizations automatically.

Does this automated figure generation approach work with screen log data?▼

Yes, automated figure generation supports screen log data alongside JSON and CSV inputs, allowing you to parse experimental outputs and transform them into publication-ready visualizations and tables.

What are the limitations of plan-driven figure generation for research papers?▼

Plan-driven figure generation requires a well-defined paper-plan.md file and structured data inputs, meaning unstructured or improperly formatted experiment logs may fail to parse correctly into publication-quality figures.
