SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Generate publication-quality figures and tables automatically from experimental results, saving researchers time in manuscript preparation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Data-driven figures: line plots, bar charts, scatter plots, heatmaps, and box/violin plots from experiment results.
Multi-panel and LaTeX-ready outputs: composite figures and tables formatted for inclusion in papers with vector PDF outputs.
Workflow automation: preserves existing figures, integrates with a figure plan (PAPER_PLAN.md) and data files to produce publication-ready visuals.

Quick Start

Generate publication-quality figures from your experimental results by providing the data files and a figure plan.

Frequently Asked Questions about paper-figure

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate publication-quality figures from experimental data automatically?▼

You can generate publication-quality figures automatically by providing experimental data files and a figure plan. The system reads inputs and outputs vector PDFs for research papers, creating data-driven plots like line, bar, scatter, and heatmap visualizations.

Can I create LaTeX-ready tables and multi-panel figures for a research paper in one step?▼

Yes, you can create LaTeX-ready tables and multi-panel composite figures in one step. The tool formats experimental results into publication-ready visuals and tables, outputting vector PDFs directly to your figures directory for manuscript inclusion.

How does automated data visualization handle existing plots when regenerating figures?▼

Automated data visualization preserves existing figures when regenerating new plots. It integrates with your figure plan and data files to produce publication-ready visuals, ensuring previously generated diagrams are not overwritten during the workflow automation.

What do I need to start automating research plots and data visualization outputs?▼

To start automating research plots, you need experimental data files and a figure plan. The workflow reads these inputs to produce data-driven figures like scatter plots and heatmaps, outputting vector PDFs formatted for publication.

Are manually drawn diagrams supported for publication-ready figure generation?▼

Manual diagrams are handled externally and are not directly generated by the automated figure workflow. The tool focuses on data-driven plots and LaTeX-ready tables from experimental results, while optional manual diagrams must be managed outside the system.

What is the best way to automate multi-panel figure generation for LaTeX publications?▼

The best way to automate multi-panel figure generation for LaTeX publications is using a data-driven workflow that reads experimental results and a figure plan. This process outputs vector PDFs and formatted tables, streamlining manuscript preparation.
