💡 This Skill includes assets (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Assimilate existing project artefacts into PAPI SDLC processes to bring legacy work under standardized governance and ensure ongoing alignment with PAPI principles.

Core Features & Use Cases

Template-driven assimilation workflow for artefacts (code, docs, environments)
Discovery and mapping of components, dependencies, and potential spec gaps
Incremental and full-onboarding paths to align existing projects with PAPI SDLC

Quick Start

Use the codebase-assimilation-template to begin mapping artefacts and establish the initial PAPI component hierarchy for a legacy project.

FAQPage Schema

How do I onboard legacy projects into a standardized SDLC workflow?▼

Onboard legacy projects into a standardized SDLC workflow by assimilating existing artefacts through a template-driven approach. This process captures dependencies and component hierarchies, producing skeletons and full specs to accelerate alignment with governance principles.

What is the best way to map existing code and documentation into PAPI specifications?▼

Mapping existing code and documentation into PAPI specifications uses a codebase-assimilation-template to establish the initial component hierarchy. It discovers components, identifies spec gaps, and generates full specifications to bring legacy work under governance.

Can I incrementally migrate existing project artefacts instead of a full onboarding?▼

Incremental migration of existing project artefacts is supported alongside full-onboarding paths. You can apply the assimilation workflow to re-scope work gradually, aligning existing projects with PAPI SDLC processes without requiring immediate total transformation.

Does assimilating legacy projects require existing PAPI component specifications?▼

Assimilating legacy projects does not require existing PAPI component specifications. The process is specifically designed for artefacts that lack PAPI specifications, enforcing a template-driven approach to discover gaps and produce the necessary skeletons.

How do I identify spec gaps when rescoping existing project environments?▼

Identify spec gaps when rescoping existing project environments by applying the assimilation template. It discovers and maps components alongside dependencies within your code, docs, and environments, highlighting areas lacking PAPI specifications for alignment.

What are the limitations of template-driven assimilation for legacy codebases?▼

Template-driven assimilation for legacy codebases primarily targets artefacts lacking PAPI specifications during onboarding or rescoping. It enforces standardized governance but relies on the codebase-assimilation-template, meaning highly fragmented environments may require manual gap mapping.
