SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Manage performance baselines by consolidating results and ensuring a single baseline JSON per version to enable reliable comparisons across releases.

Core Features & Use Cases

One baseline JSON per version stored at {state-dir}/perf/baselines/<version>.json to prevent drift.
Record metrics and environment metadata to support reproducibility and auditing.
Compare baselines across versions to identify regressions and improvements.

Quick Start

Run the perf-baseline-manager to create or update the baseline JSON for a specific version in your state directory.

FAQPage Schema

How do I maintain a single performance baseline per release version?▼

Store one baseline JSON per version at {state-dir}/perf/baselines/<version>.json to prevent baseline drift across environments and releases.

What is the best way to compare performance metrics across release versions?▼

Compare performance across versions by loading stored baseline JSON files and analyzing recorded metrics alongside environment metadata to identify regressions or improvements.

How do I record environment metadata for performance benchmarking reproducibility?▼

Record environment metadata alongside metrics within the versioned baseline JSON to support reproducibility and auditing during performance benchmarking across test environments.

Can I integrate baseline management into an automated performance testing pipeline?▼

Apply this baseline management to performance testing pipelines where baselines are generated, stored, and automatically compared across versions and environments.

Why does performance baseline drift happen and how do I prevent it?▼

Baseline drift happens when multiple unmanaged baseline files exist for a release; prevent it by enforcing one versioned baseline JSON per version in a dedicated state directory.
