SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Plan reviews are often slow, inconsistent, and risk missing edge cases. This skill provides an opinionated, diagram-rich framework for engineering plan reviews that promotes thorough analysis and actionable decisions.

Core Features & Use Cases

Interactive evaluation of architecture, data flow, edge cases, test plans, and performance.
Encourages ASCII diagrams and explicit documentation to clarify designs and tradeoffs.
Use Case: startups planning a new microservice can walkthrough architecture decisions and acceptance criteria with this skill.

Quick Start

Initiate a plan review by providing your engineering plan outline and then follow the prompts to discuss architecture, data flow, edge cases, and tests.

FAQPage Schema

How do I review an engineering implementation plan for architecture and edge cases?▼

Review an engineering implementation plan by evaluating architecture, data flow, edge cases, and test coverage through an interactive, diagram-rich framework that enforces explicit tradeoffs and maintainable design.

What is the best way to critique software architecture decisions before implementation?▼

The best way to critique software architecture decisions is using an opinionated review framework that enforces clear ASCII diagrams, documents data flow, and evaluates performance against structured acceptance criteria.

Can I use an engineering plan review for a new microservice architecture?▼

Yes, you can use an engineering plan review for a new microservice architecture to walk through architecture decisions, evaluate data flow, discuss edge cases, and define test plans with your team.

How do I visualize data flow and tradeoffs during a code quality plan review?▼

Visualize data flow and tradeoffs during a code quality plan review by generating explicit ASCII diagrams that clarify complex software changes and enforce maintainable design across team contexts.

What should I provide to start an engineering plan review?▼

To start an engineering plan review, provide your engineering plan outline and then follow interactive prompts to discuss architecture, data flow, edge cases, and tests.

Why are engineering plan reviews often inconsistent and how do I fix it?▼

Engineering plan reviews are often inconsistent due to missed edge cases and slow feedback, which you fix by applying an opinionated, structured evaluation framework that enforces explicit tradeoffs and actionable decisions.
