SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Engineering teams often proceed with plans and designs without a structured, repeatable review that validates architecture, data flows, edge cases, test strategy, and performance. This skill provides an interactive, opinionated workflow to lock in the execution plan.

Core Features & Use Cases

Interactive plan reviews that walk through architecture, data flow, risk, and tradeoffs.
Opinionated recommendations to improve design quality and reduce rework.
Support for diagrams, checklists, and design-document validation across designs and feature scopes.

Quick Start

Load the feature design and start the guided engineering-plan review to lock in architecture, data flow, edge cases, test coverage, and performance expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions about plan-eng-review

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I conduct an engineering plan review for architecture and data flow?▼

An engineering plan review validates architecture, data flow, and test coverage through an interactive, structured workflow. It loads design docs to drive guided reviews and provides an opinionated execution plan with recommended diagrams and artifact checklists.

What is the best way to validate test coverage and risk before coding a new feature?▼

Validating test coverage and risk before coding requires a structured engineering review to agree on quality gates. This interactive process walks through edge cases, performance expectations, and tradeoffs to lock in the execution plan and reduce rework.

Can I use a design doc to drive an architecture review for a major software change?▼

Yes, design docs can load into the architecture review to drive the interactive workflow. The review validates architecture, data movement, and quality gates, outputting an opinionated execution plan with recommended diagrams and artifact checklists.

Does an interactive engineering review work for validating data movement and edge cases?▼

An interactive engineering review works by walking through data movement, edge cases, and tradeoffs to validate the design. It provides an opinionated execution plan and artifact checklists to ensure architecture and data flows are agreed before coding.

When do I need a structured engineering plan review for my software project?▼

A structured engineering plan review is needed for new features or major changes where architecture, data movement, and quality gates must be agreed before coding. It reduces rework by providing an opinionated execution plan with diagram recommendations.

How do engineering leaders lock in an execution plan with diagram recommendations?▼

Engineering leaders lock in an execution plan through an interactive review that validates architecture, data flow, and risk. The process yields an opinionated plan with recommended diagrams and artifact checklists loaded directly from design docs.
