SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Users often design and build features that fail to deliver clear value, leading to wasted time and misaligned outcomes across teams. This Skill helps you frame web development work around verifiable user outcomes to ensure every feature moves value forward.

Core Features & Use Cases

JTBD framing and the Double Diamond approach to move from problem space to solution space.
Prompt-driven translation of user needs into actionable features, stories, and acceptance criteria.
Prioritization guidance balancing impact, effort, risk, and learning across a backlog.
Rapid prototyping prompts and anti-pattern awareness to validate ideas before heavy investment.
Integration with related skills to align product, design, and engineering decisions.

Quick Start

Define the user outcome, map a JTBD statement, and translate it into an agent prompt to guide feature development.

FAQPage Schema

How do I prioritize product backlog features by user outcomes instead of tasks?▼

To prioritize backlog features by user outcomes, apply Jobs To Be Done framing to balance impact, effort, risk, and learning. This ensures web development work aligns with verifiable user value rather than isolated task completion.

What is the best way to translate stakeholder needs into actionable user stories?▼

Translating stakeholder needs into actionable user stories requires prompt-driven analysis using design-thinking principles. This method maps stakeholder requests to concrete jobs to be done, yielding clear features and acceptance criteria.

How does Jobs To Be Done framing help reduce feature waste in web development?▼

Jobs To Be Done framing reduces feature waste by shifting focus from building requested tasks to defining verifiable user outcomes. It uses the Double Diamond approach to validate problem space before investing in technical implementation.

Can I use design thinking to validate rapid prototypes before heavy engineering investment?▼

Yes, you can use design thinking to validate rapid prototypes before heavy engineering investment. The Skill provides rapid prototyping prompts and anti-pattern awareness to test ideas early and prevent building features that fail to deliver value.

Do I need prior product management experience to apply outcome-driven feature definition?▼

Prior product management experience is helpful but not strictly required to apply outcome-driven feature definition. The Skill provides concrete prompt templates and design-thinking principles to guide analysis, prioritization, and decision-making end-to-end.
